The third full-length release from this Canadian tyrant, who should require no introduction. From the rotten mind of the Toronto ghoul known as Ukeparaave, EC has been spreading the plague since 2019, with a highly prolific pace, with over 15 releases already, but without ever compromising its sound, both quality and essence. Here, with "Spiritual Penetration", we are delivered with what's probably the projects most spectral, reflective work to date, and for this a slightly cleaner sound is definitely fitting, with more space for the guitars to echo through the rotten chambers of the mausoleum, but bear no illusion that this is by any means more welcoming. "Spiritual Penetration" remains absolutely harrowing, abrasive and haunting, honoring death and the absolute holocaust of humanity, vomiting from its foul, decrepit bowls dissonance akin to acts like FCoS, early Mons Veneris, Mysteries, etc, but always with its very unique take. Released again by the excellent Death Hymns, on LP format.
