Sabbat - 40 years of Sabbatical Hamagurism 12 x tape boxset

Ever since Costa of Iron Pegasus, Orlok of Countess and Opyros of Nazgul's Eyrie introduced me to Sabbat back in the day, I've been a fan of the band.
The combination of the music, being their Japanese blend of (early) Black, Thrash and Heavy Metal, combined with the slightly exotic aesthetics and juvenile lyrics/song titles really hit my soft spot. The underground DIY mentality of frontman Gezol is something I greatly respect as well.
Hence, I started following the band, collecting their records (which was still manageable back then) and went to see them live when they did their first European minitour, in which they shared the stages with Barathrum and Countess (with New Era companion Zagan on the guitar).
My first ever vinyl release was the Dietsland Harmageddon 7" on my previous label, Berzerker records, in the year 2000. After over 25 years of Sabbatical Fanboyism, my collectionslaught consists of a few hundred records. And counting..

During all these years, Sabbat followed their own path. Their impressive discography broadcasts diversity, yet strongly rooted in their own style and easily recognizable. They are known to compete with Nunslaughter and Agathocles in the sheer amount of split releases and alternative editions. It's hard to keep up, but it's Sabbat, so we try.

I've seen the band perform live various times and even after fourty years, Gezol and the guys are still performing with a burning passion. Live as well as on their recordings. They don't care if they play for 100 or 1000 maniacs, they give it all. If you ever get the chance to see them live, don't miss out. You won't regret it.

When the band announced album number ten, Sabbaticult, to be their last ever studio album I thought it would be appropriate to release the album discography as a tape box set.
The first five 7"s, being an essential part of their discography, as well as the classic 'Live at Blokula' album are included as well.
Limited to 100 handnumbered copies, wooden box set with silk-screen silver logo and laser-etched inscription on the inside of the lid. Layouts by Dan Fried, and loyal to the original Evil records first press releases.

Available exclusively through the New Era Productions webshop.

PS Thanks to the band for allowing me to steal their His Master's Voice logo.
